climactic ending for Chapter 7 - spoilers!

FINALLY, an end to the flashbacks we've seen for weeks, as the episode takes us all the way through the disastrous 'meeting' with Martin Moxon up to McDeere's wrongful arrest and interrogation. We are brought up to the present - what a fitting last episode aired on prime time. josh lucas was so forceful and commanding as an attorney. very passionate, and on behalf of this kid who can't even pay his legal fees. the family, playing nerf-basketball, so warm. it felt like things began to come together in this episode. from this point, i do feel invested in these characters. it often does take a while until we really care about a show's main cast - this episode built up steam, churning and chugging to a big finale. my one gripe is the awful soundtrack. the sound person should be fired and sent back to the 1980s, where he/she belongs.

as a side note, for everyone celebrating the network's shelving of 'the firm' by moving it to saturday nights, let's wait and see what this episode's ratings were.

This didn't bring us to the present at all...we're still two weeks out.

And it's the first one that was of IMO questionable quality. The characters all started acting rather stupid and obvious, where they had previously seemed smart.
