Didn't they make the same mistake with 'The Shining'?

They made a fantastic movie out of the book already. This will be lackluster made-for-tv crap.

It is not an adaptation of the book. It is a sequel taking place ten years later. John Grisham himself is one of the creators.

Everyone who points to Kubrick's adaptation of The Shining, I always get a kick out of. It was nominated for a Razzie for worst film of the year. The images of the blood coming out of the elevator make zero sense in context of the film and are interspersed at random intervals. We don't know why Jack began to slip into insanity, nor do we get any real understanding of the hotel. The mini-series has a lot of flaws, but it at least has a coherent story where the viewer can understand how everything fits together.

I don't care that Kubrick's film isn't faithful to the source material. What I care about is that isn't coherent, nor is it a good film. If you want a good Kubrick film, watch Dr. Strangelove or Full Metal Jacket, and not that over-rated piece of crap.
