I've watched 21 episodes and don't care what happens anymore...I quit.

I really wanted to believe that this show would somehow get better over time. It didn't...it seems to have gotten worse to me...much, much worse.

I'm probably one of the only people on this board that actually likes Juliette Lewis and I'm glad for her sake that this show will soon be gone. Her career as of late hasn't been exactly stellar and she shouldn't waste her time on this piece of crap show.

Everybody is entitled their own opinion.I do believe that this is not a crappy show. Much better than those reality crap they are showing right now. It didn't do good on ratings because the network didn't advertise and promote enough. Right now, some people are just starting to watch it and liking it. This show was presented the way John Grisham writes his book, so if you read JG books then you'll be able to follow.
As far as I am concerned, this is the best show on TV since The Practice. You watched 21 episodes that means you kept following it and you are complaining? What's up with that? I guess its time for you to quit because it is down to the last episode. I bet you you still going to watch the last episode since it is not coming back! Enjoy the last episode!

They did plenty of advertising and promoting of this show, after all, it's an adaption of John Grisham's books and the movie featuring Tom Cruise. Your opinion sounds extremely biased. You're exaggerating over the top, ("...best show on TV"). I am a huge John Grisham fan but this show was a disappointment to me. The show simply did not do good on the ratings because it's lackluster. I heard many people complaining that it was the jumping back and forth and dragging of the storyline. For instance, it took a good 4 weeks to show what happened when the McDeere house got broken into. And if the show was good, people would talk about it and praise it, hence, giving it good publicity and promoting the show but the fact of the matter is, no one is doing that. And another thing, the characters in the book and on TV are way off. Would it also help to know that Josh Lucas and Juliette Lewis felt the same way about the show? That is was a big letdown.

I thought this had serious potential when it began. Now I only watch it because my wife likes it. Its stacked with good actors, but the dialogue is especially weak. Josh Lucas is good, but the whole family dynamic is unbelievable. The daughter knows intimate details of Mitch's cases that his clients aren't even aware of, which just contributes to overall implausibility. The wife is one of the most annoying characters in recent television history - which is unfortunate, as Molly Parker is quite a good actress. Calum Keith Rennie's talents are wasted. Juliette Lewis is also thrown away. All good actors, but the characters they play have no substance.

I can't say this is a terrible show, its still better than most network TV shows. My criticism is born of frustration that it showed real potential, and seemed quite intelligent. Unfortunately it wasn't sustained for very long.

I kinda stopped watching when Abbey left with Claire. When I found out it was cancelled I didn't bother watching again so I deleted my DVR recordings. I learned my lesson from Flash Forward

"You complete arse Ronald Weasley you show up here after weeks and you say hey"(hermione)

I really enjoy this show. Its the best show in NBC in my opinion (not really saying much but you get the idea)

Recently I've become addicted to anything playing on FX because of the quality level of those shows and i typically cant stand most shows on the networks (exceptions being The Good Wife and Person of Interest) and i was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Firm.

Is it the best show ever? Far from it. Is it great entertainment? Yes

Wow, you lasted that long? I dropped the show like a hot potato once they went back to that silly flashback formula in episode 8 or whenever that was.

I really wanted to like this show...I am a Grisham fan and my spouse is a lawyer. We both watched and he was constantly telling me how bad Mitch was at practicing law. Also this show was so hugely improbable and that mobster angle..so annoying. I ma glad it is over. it just got weaker and weaker. Waiting for the new season when the better shows come back

I'm actually the opposite, I found the show really boring at first but starting getting interest when it became more dramatic...
Juliette Lewis was not good at all IMO.. Her mannerisms and body language were completely exaggerated. It's like they told someone with no acting skills or experience whatsoever, "You're a white trash bimbo. Go!". I didn't buy the romance between her and Ray McDeere either. Their chemistry was not real at all. I understand well why she took the part! She's not a great actress and now she's almost 40 as well - she should take what she can get.

Agree completely. I held on because I had a feeling it would get better. IMHO, it kicked into gear in 1x07 with the car chase and continued with its momentum (for the most part).

Yeah when there was an actual main story it became interesting.. To be honest, I only started watching because of Callum Keith Rennie and his hotness. Which is why I sticked with it for so many episodes even though I was bored.

@marieg

I only checked out the show because I knew CKR was in it as well :D

I also agree with you on the Juliette/Ray front. Something was kind of off.

I am currently on around episode 14 or 15. The thing that really makes this show bad is the writing.

I sort of lost interest in taking the show seriously when a so called guy who is SO intelligent and smart that he keeps his secrets in a room with military grade hardware then shoots federal agents and VIDEOS it to send to Mitch...seriously? It takes it for granted that the federal system is full of idiots and red tape. When federal agents are shot at or killed, all hell breaks loose and a video showing who did it...what type of super villain would take such chances?

Also Mitch is supposed to be Harvard Law, top of his class. He doesn't act like he was #1 at Harvard Law...he makes irrational and stupid decisions which are just impossible for the viewer to buy into.

I love law dramas, and this show does have a few good points, but the bad writing of the plot line as well as characterization of these actors is just TERRIBLE.

I am glad it was cancelled.
