Singham is the real Captain America

Wow this movie was awesome.

The first hour spends a lot of time setting up the character (it's all really good, though, and filmed to perfection) and Singham comes across as this invincible, incorruptible badass. His fight scenes are awesome and he does it all with style and coolness.

The second half of the film takes a completely different turn. It's like the writers were playing chess with the character dynamics and I loved it. The main bad guy comes across as weak at first in the first confrontation with Singham but as the movie progresses we get to see just how much of a challenge he is for the Invincible Lion that is Singham.

I loved it so much. The good guy/bad guy interaction reminded me of the first and third Die Hard films, and I loved the tactical mind games that were played.

This isn't really an action film per se, but it does have some really neat and innovative action sequences (Epic pimp slaps FTW).

Last thing real quick...the politics. Seriously, I thought it was such a great thing to really root out the corruption of what plagues so many countries across the world. This element in the movie that was both dramatic and handled with some seriousness is the one thing that Captain America lacked. The real fight with the real enemy is within.

I loved how Singham gave those amazingly epic speeches and actually talked about real-world issues and approaching them with something real-life humans lack: conscientious integrity. It was great how all the characters defending the corruption used a lot of real-life excuses that you hear politicians and corrupt officials spout off all the time, and yet Singham countered them all with principles and judicial standards that we could only wish for in real-life.

Ha, Singham is the real Captain America...
