Why do all these reality shows just make up the rules as they go?

Isn't that illegal somehow?
I'm sure they have it all spelled out in the contracts, but still...
How can they just randomly decide if people are going home or not?

Illegal? WTF?

Many reality shows have freebie weeks where nobody goes home. Plus, the seasons are set for a certain number of episodes so when more people drop out than expected, they have to stretch it out.

Illegal? LOL!

reply

Yes it is illegal and they are all going to jail. Someone call a bail bondsman.

Lol and I thought it was pretty obvious nobody would be going home after four people left

The K.I.N.D. club.
Growing at least one more member each day :D

Illegal? lol.

Hey - are you by any chance one of those Biggest Loser contestants who didn't read their contracts, got all pissy about a clause that was SPELLED OUT in the contract, and walked out on the show?

Trust me, contestants in "reality" shows know exactly what they're getting into. They're using the "reality" show to try to get famous for having no talent. I'm not gonna lie, I do watch shows like Love in the Wild and The Biggest Loser for entertainment, but if you think anything about it is "real", you must be either very young or very naive. Or both.

It's a federal offense punishable by 75 years in prison with no parole or time off for good behavior. Indictments are imminent.

But, seriously, you don't think they have plans, and thus rules, for what happens if more people then expected go home in an episode?

reply

You all convinced me.
I'm reporting this to the FBI, the Game Show Commission and the NSA.
