The 3.6:1 Ultra-widescreen version

Wanting to know how it looks, if it's worth the effort to go see it. I would have to fly out to a city that is currently showing it - but really want to get some opinions on it beforehand.

Technically, how is the the 3.6:1 ratio being achieved? Is the 1.44:1 IMAX version merely being cropped - or is there another cinematographic process that was used to deliver this format?

Saw the 3.6:1 version, and I'm honestly not sure.

If I had to guess, I would say it was cropped - I looked at the trailers for reference and am fairly certain that some of the image was not seen in the ultra-widescreen version. Which, if that's indeed the case, makes me feel a bit cheated... :)

If it was me, I would tell you to not go to the trouble (assuming you're getting the same ultra-widescreen and no narration 45-minute version that I did).
