What a sad ending...Spoilers

All that torture, suffering and fighting for nothing. She just dies in front of her daughter that she barely knew...:(

Besides, the mother also died. That sucks, lol.

I watched a shytty online version, so I barely could hear a thing, lol.

Does that happen during the final credits? Because she looked like really dead before the ending credits.

Oh, damn it!!! I need to find a better version to watch, then. XD

Glad to know she isn't dead.

I think it does not much matter, if there is any truth to what Taiko said:

"If I die by your hand, you and Maisey will never be safe."

That's why that SWAT member took her daughter away.

I didn't read it that way. To me, there wasn't really anything sinister to that. He was just doing what any cop would and removing a child from a very violent scene. And as for Taiko's threats, people like him are bullies that lie to intimidate and get their way. And, his organization seemed to be in pretty bad shape at the end of it. Even if the cop was corrupt, with his source of money dead, their wouldn't be much reason for him to do anything.

reply

Exactly. With Taiko dead, all threats are pretty much nullified. Dead Man makes it clear that while there are a few (The Sadist) in the organisation who are 'evil', most are just like him (and Everly): working for Taiko out of fear and intimidation. Even someone totally twisted like The Masochist only kept going because of targets of opportunity for violence, not loyalty or devotion to his recently-deceased bosses. Taiko doesn't seem like someone who'd inspire anyone to avenge him or fulfil dying wishes. It's a shame the other girl who Everly made the deal with to kill her didn't live, at least long enough to realise this fact on screen, IMO, too.

reply

It doesn't really matter because the odds of a sequel are pretty much zero.

reply

But still leaves open for possibilities

It's like looking in a mirror, only not.

Soo... nobody is going with the alternative version of the end. I mean, she was in a comma for four years, and it was all a nightmare, she wakes up at the end. It´s taken from a dialogue with Taiko. She says it.
