NOT Filmed in Florida...

Online articles say producer Hanson wants to avoid having to fly from LA to Miami to LA, but "...because The Finder is set in Miami and the city’s look is an important part of the show, the series’ crew plans several trips to Florida a year, with one day of production on each episode slated to take place in Miami."

Amazing. This is what setting a show in a particular location but filming in LA produces...

There ain't no key anywhere near Miami where that could put that bar.

The parole agent drives "all the way from Key West" to check on the blonde girl. Miami is 133 miles from Key West - and a major metropolitan area. Why would the parole agent be from Key West?

Oh, and the background while driving across the causeway - that seems to be the same spot every time.

The establishing scene of the bar was Florida. Thousand Island fly-over was Florida. Neither was Miami.

The docks, the urban buildings - what should be Miami - was Hollywood.

If "the city's look is an important part of the show", Hanson, give a little of your blood for your "art" (yeah, right) and make the cross-country trips.

Or just place the show in LA. What's so important about Miami? You ain't using it, anyway.

Okay, trolls, attack away and tell it's just a TV show and if I don't like the show, don't watch it. Yawn.

Bro, its just a TV show. If you don't like it, don't watch it. *yawn*...guess its time for bed

reply

its just a show you tard they do this kind of crap all the time. Pour yourself a nice large glass of STFU juice with a side of stop being a mother effing douche canoe, effing clown shoes.

reply

Boohoo it's not filmed in Florida! pfff..

Big deal!! I didn't notice a thing, if they're faking it, they're doing a pretty good job, better than some "New York' series..

reply

For the record, it's filmed at fox studios. As is...SPOILER ALERT:

How I met your mother (it's not really NY!)
Modern family
Bones

Etc...Have you ever been to a studio?? Most of those "Other countries or cities" are on a set or backlot somewhere in Hollywood

reply

I find it disconcerting in Bones every time they walk past the stairs leading to Ted's apartment/McLaren's Bar, and in HIMYM when they walk past the Royal Diner and the Founding Fathers Bar (in one episode the actually blow up the building in which the Royal Diner is part of ground floor).

reply

Its not the first and it won't be the last. I used to watch Silk Stalkings with great amusement when they showed cars with license plates on the front (something that Florida law does not require.) At least take heart that its filmed in the US.

reply

Amen, at least it's not Canada.

reply

"Amen, at least it's not Canada."

Ain't that the truth.

reply

excuse me but I'll have you know that we have good shows produced up here, thank you very much!

reply

got news for u, neither of the CSI shows r actually filmed in their claimed city either

reply

I won't say don't whine about it, but I will offer you an explanation...

I'm fairly certain FL doesn't give big tax credits to films and tv produced in the state like CA does. And, for a show in it's first season, I can see why they might not spend the money they could be saving on other things on a location that can easily be faked.

Actually, they do have the occasional second-unit location shot just in case they need the landmarks.

reply

Hate to tell you, but Star Wars wasn't shot on Tatooine, either. They totally mocked our planet.

Um.. neither is Dexter.

Dexter wasn't filmed on Tatooine? That's it I'm never watching Dexter again!

Sorry, couldn't help it, the order of the replies made me reply.

LOL, actually I would be VERY surprised if this was actually filmed in Florida. I think the first unofficial Bones/The Finder crossover was filmed in Florida, I remember watching an interview where David B & Emily D were talking about being in the Everglades and that Emily had to stand in the swamp water with an alligator just a few feet away.
