The Wicked Within is Wicked awful

We thought this would be a fun scary movie to watch on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Didn't expect much but really can't believe how awful this is. The writing is juvenile at best, plot holes everywhere, nonsensical events and if I didn't know better, I would think this movie was a "spoof" on possession films. Yes- it's that bad. And why is everyone stuck in this house? It's like The Breakfast Club, cheesy horror movie version. Even the fake blood looks bad. I would only recommend watching this if you like making fun of a movie as you watch it.

While watching ANY horror movie, I inevitably think to myself, "What would I do in this situation?" During this movie I just kept wondering why paramedics weren't called or Beth wasn't taken to the ER early on in the movie. I could understand if it were a slow possesion, if the family were uber religious, or if hospitals had already turned them away due to lack of knowledge. But this flick just went straight possession cliche right away. However, the actors in the film are not awful, unless they are spewing spoon-fed lines that writers/director/execs must'VE insisted up (i.e. the sophomoric lines the "medium" had to film). I don't pretend to be a critic, so just as a matter of one man's opinion, I'd say this isn't a good movie, but it isn't the worse horror flick you could watch with someone snuggled up against you on a Friday night ;)
