Man, These Indie Guys

These indie developers are dicks. A bunch of pricks who think their $h!t doesn't stink. I did support the indies until I watched this movie.

I'm sorry to read your posting and you took the movie that way. I am working on a serious indie game myself and I'm not anywhere like these guys (at least I don't think I am!). I have a life and work other than doing my game but I do want to finish it.

Not everyone making games are like the guys in this movies. I agree a couple of these guys had very poor attitudes with the user/customer base, especially the guy that made "Braid". Part of being a "business" person, especially when on your own, is to be nice to others, especially the customers. Personally I feel the guy that made Braid didn't deserve some of his praise after reacting the way he did to the opinions on his game. There's no reason to badmouth fans of the game, even if you think they did not get the idea behind your game.

And I think you are getting the wrong message here. These guys actually DO think their *beep* stinks. I can related hugely what these guys go through because I have been working on and off on my game since 2010 (going on four years!). There are MANY times where you think your game sucks, you suck, people hate you, and you should just throw you game in the garbage now along with your soul. These guys don't think they are above the world, it's the opposite. They more so worry the world won't "get" their product or like it.

If you re going to bash every developer out there because of this one movie then shame on you. Not everyone has an ego and you really didn't understand the movie if you feel that way.

Yeah, I agree with sedativchunk.
I'm surprised how you would feel this way. Yeah, that Fish dude can seem a bit arrogant but I guess you see people like that a lot in the creative industry. They are working on their worldview day and night. They've risked their career and life (which panned out as we know) for their visions. I think their reactions are completely understandable.

I think you'd meet more arrogant untalented indie pricks if you make rounds the indie circuit. At least these guys could produce actual sellable works.
