I stumbled across it by accident, and am so glad I did... I really hope they make a series out this premise and with this cast.... they were all soooo good, and had great chemistry... Carla is fab in the role of DD... Awesome!
It was okay. Catherine and Annabelle were played totally different here than in the book. In the book, the pattern is brunettes, not redheads, but that's not even what I'm referring to. Catherine is more she-wolf in the book and Annabelle is tough, smart and cautious. Neither acted like 'victims.' The two characters here were cowering damsels. They also upped the ages and dates of the victims, but maybe that's because TNT thought younger ages might make things too sensitive. Also, in the DD books, we are constantly told about her curly blonde hair so I'm not sure why they didn't cast someone closer to the book description though Carla does a fine job. When the book is actually happening, her and Bobby were not involved. We know they were an item a long time ago, but that's it. CG channel's DD's abrasiveness (the weird thing is that though this series of books is named after her, she's the least likable character). Bummed that there was no Bella the dog. :) Alex wasn't in this book, but they did hint at his being in future books and his relationship with Warren.
Who cares about their hair color? Is it relevant to the story? (pretty ridiculous to have a brunette for a pattern btw since it's so very common, it wouldn't exactly scream pattern)
Not sure what you mean by "unlikeable" but if you mean she's not a Mary Sue that just anybody can imprint on and pretend to be in their fantasy life then yeah, sure, totally "unlikeable", thank goodness. God forbid female characters had flaws or issues.
