A woman terrified of being stalked . . .

so much so that she has a ton of lock on her front door.

And yet she goes out running alone, at night, with earbuds in? And she opens her door completely (no chain) when someone knocks at night, even though she doesn't know who it is?

I felt like the characterization of Annabelle was pretty weak. I read the book a long while back and seem to remember there being a lot more about how paranoid she was and how many steps she'd taken to stay off the radar.

I know they had those moments to build suspense, but I felt like they made Annabelle look like an idiot instead of the paranoid, frightened (but tough and determined) person she was meant to be.
