Saw this tonight (6/15/11)

Just saw this tonight in Phoenix. Theatre was fairly well packed.

I thought this was a good production of the musical. I believe that the Broadway production from a few years ago with Raul Esparza was actually better, but this had it's moments as well.

Patti LuPone brought the house down with her version of "Ladies who Lunch." She didn't try to repeat what Elaine Stritch did with it in 1970, but made it her own, and really brought a new perspective to it.

All in all, it was a great production. I'm looking forward to seeing this on DVD in the very near future.

I saw it last night, too, in Middle America. My theatre was also pretty full, which pleasantly surprised me.

I LOVE the show and score, but I did not love this version. Maybe if I saw this production live I would have liked it more.

NPH is always likable, but he didn't have the charisma to pull off Robert. He sang everything fine, but he was just so vanilla.

Not being familiar with this at all (aside from having heard some of the songs out of context), I had no idea what to expect. Neil Patrick Harris is very talented, but I don't think he was quite right for the part. I might have enjoyed Craig Bierko (Peter) in the role a little better. But that's just my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I saw it yesterday in Hampton, VA. Light house (as with most movies I see.)

Having seen the show, and done some of the music before, I think there's a certain emptiness in Robert's life that really isn't explored in Act I. I liked the way the Harris played Bobby in the whole show, as it really made the loneliness theme work in Act II.

As with many works of art, what we see tells us about who we are. I see Robert's aimlessness in life as a much stronger idea than the fun instant party guy described in the "Bobby" song. I'm sure that others find other parts of the show that they'd like to see stronger, but I liked this show just the way it was. (Minus the technical difficulties at our Movie Theater)

Tried to see this last night in Cambridge MA. Sold out! The only show that entire day too! The next showing is Sunday at noon! When I asked wehy they just didn't show it every day I got this response about it being a special engagement and stuff like that. Maybe it's me but if shows are selling out shouldn't u add MORE shows???? BTW I got a ticket for the Sunday show. Cost $18.00!

Yeah, I don't know why they did it that way. The dates were the same nationwide, but not all theaters used every date. There were 3 theaters that ran it in my area, and none had more than 2 showings.

That's VERY strange! It seems like they're trying to get people to NOT go see the show. BTW--I missed my show. I overslept!:)
