Saw Premier last night - very good film!

(Not sure why we can't rate it yet.) While there could definitely be some editing (some repetitive ideas, overlong moments, etc.) the entire audience seemed to really enjoy this one. Oberst really chews the scenery. This is not a "take" on any specific cult event, but more of an exploration (according to dir. in Q&A) of what is normally NOT shown in all the docs and features about the many well-known ones. I.e., what is it like for some of the different types of people who get involved with and then put in some time (or even die) with one of these cults of personality? A thoughtful film w/no slashers or supernatural beings, but certainly enuf true evil, gore, suspense (as well as a real surprise ending) to fulfill these 2 Shockfest fans!

i knew it was not a good film as soon as they were shooting empty guns with sound effects ... i have no idea what you were watching.

very good film!
Subjective analysis aside, wouldn't the main criterion for calling something a "film" be that the images are recorded on film? And as far as the "very good" goes, maybe if that was prefaced with "not", and appended with "even for an After Dark production", I would be much more inclined to agree.
