Generation X Vibe
This show hints at so many things from the 1980s. I love it.
shareYeah, I know what you mean. I like the little references the show has (like the street-fighter parody in The Words; the Wii shop music in an episode I forgot the name of)
shareIt has more of a 90's vibe than anything else. Love to see Richard wearing his flannel and mock Nirvana smiley face T-shirt from when he was young.
I cant beat monster butts, but I can beat your hungry guts. Thats for sure!
Right? Makes me wonder how old their parents are because they looked real young in that scene and Nirvana was the 90s. I know they were definitely teenagers.
shareI love that about the show, it's so far out and I can never tell if we're in the present or we're in another time period like how Jimmy Neutron had a retro 50s vibe.
"The Void" is the best episode in terms of how nostalgic it is.
Our songs will all be silenced, but what of it? Go on singing. -- Orson Welles
The technology is definitely out of the 80s. I love the old TV, phones, and computer they have. :)
shareI personally find it to be a nice blend of old and new stuff. If there is a 1980s vibe, at least it's not as in-your-face as Regular Show.
"We'll be alive but like a nightmare. You drink blood, you won't wake up from nightmare."
Regular Show, just seems to be a show set in modern times, but featuring characters who are fans of 80s things, mostly videogames, but they (and the show itself) look at it as a a kind of "old is just another word for classic" view point, I think. So it's no more in your face than real life, since the previous decades are still here, in their own way.
I know and I love it! I. A huge 80s and 90s junkie. Ah, nostalgia.
