Honestly surprised by the show

I am in my 20s and have watched this show with kids I looked after. Just like with my generation, a lot of shows 'dumb down' their viewers with jokes and other stupid childish things, idiotic shows like Uncle Grandpa. However, I was surprised by Gumball.

The first time I watched it, I found myself relating to the show and even laughing out loud at certain segments of the episode. It's not just the themes of the show, it's also the art and the intuitive things they feature in each episode. I have actually watched the featured videos of the creators of the show, showing the behind the scenes and I think they are genius.

It's a show for kids, but also entertains the adults that may be watching. Some things on the show are pointed towards things that adults will know, but may completely go over a child's head, while still presented in an innocent way that would entertain the younger viewers.

I wish they had this show in my generation. I just remember looking down at CN and Disney for the stupid and over-used shows they featured, which left me with Nic. I didn't care much for SpongeBob, but that was the main show for my generation. I'm just surprised to see se great shows on CN.

I agree. I watch it with my son and I enjoy it.

Same here. I never even thought about watching it until my son was watching one day and I found myself getting into it. It's like a lot of current Disney/Pixar and other animated movies/shows: There's a level of humor and references that kids will get, and then another level that's relatable to adults. I find that very clever. But I do laugh at some of the juvenile jokes...hehe...
