Fantastic Series! *Spoilers and Questions

I just finished watching this and it was amazing! I've never seen a Chilean series before and I can't wait to see more from the country.

Few observations...
-- Did anyone else suspect the undersecretary had paid Red to kill her so she would be a martyr? During that speech, I guessed so. Really good move on her part considering she was toast anyway?

-- How stupid was it for the trio to escape on a stolen boat. After all they'd been through, I can't believe they chose that route. Didn't they think of the coast guard?

Few questions though.

*. At the end, when Laura and her boyfriend checked the account balance, it was USD $1.8 million. Granted it's a lot of money, but did they really take that risk for 1.8mil? I thought the total amount was a lot more than that(100mill) considering this was a huge battle between 2 drug cartels?

* What was Laura's boyfriend's native language? On the plane, she said his Spanish was really good and I was not sure if the language they spoke at the time was spanish.

They were speaking Spanish, and I think she meant his Spanish accent because he was pretending to be from Spain. In very general terms, the stereotype of the Spanish accent is that Spaniards speak Spanish with a lisp the way Scottish people speak English with a brogue (while Americans sound more flat). Not sure where he was actually supposed to be from but I'd assume Chile or at least somewhere in South America. I did notice he sounded different on the plane.

I did. Too bad. It was supposed to be a major reveal.

What else could they have done?

As it has been said in the show a few times, cocaine and heroine are quite rare here. So the money can't be compared to other LatinAmerican countries. Besides, 1.8 Mil IS a lot.

As the other user said, he was Spanish pretending to be Chilean. Just like with almost every English-speaking country, there are different accents in each country.
