Anyone else notice that the plot is really just a rip off of The Fog'?

If not a direct rip-off, a close copy.
- small isolated community
- violent and shameful secret from the past
- all the leads are related to the players in the past drama
- vengeance from the past comes cloaked in mist
- priest at the forefront of hiding shameful past
- media outlet based in small isolated community
- one of the leads works for media outlet
- a long lost journal sheds light on shameful past
- bad parenting skills on display throughout

The only thing that was missing was the Founders' Day celebration.

In addition, the two Fog movies were also shot in the Great Northwest; the original in N. California and the remake in BC, like "Ghost Storm."

Still, there were some differences to distinquish "Ghost Storm." The ghost storm functions differently and the way it kills is completely different.

the original "the FOG" filmed in Northern California was so SO SOOOOO Superior to the crap remake filmed in Canada.

Sorry folks but I tend to have a low regard for ANYTHING filmed in Canada. It might be cute, it might be clever, but it always seems ... how do I say it? .... low budget (and in a bad way) to movies filmed in the U.S.

Dr. Kila Marr was right. Kill the Crystalline Entity.

Much of it is provincial or federal government-funded - sometimes both - in some capacity (in order to "help the film industry in Canada"). I propose that IMDB have a small maple leaf to denote films made with Canadians' taxpayer money.

reply

LOL. Hey, at least the Canadian government types are trying to HELP their people who work in the movie industry get some sort of work. Here in the U.S. our state and local governments just LOVE driving all business away.
