gym teacher... abuse?

I recently watched both versions side by side and had a thought which I realize I should have had earlier. In both versions Ms. Collins/Desjardin gets slap happy with her students. Last I checked, laying your hands on a student is like really really illegal. Like career-ending illegal. If this were to happen in real life, wouldn't she have been fired with extreme prejudice?

In the 70s, corporal punishment was legal. One of my grade school teachers thumped kids with a dictionary, and a junior high teacher bopper kids with the gemstone on his class ring.

As a teacher in the early 80s, I had a paddle in my classroom.

The 70s teacher might have received an oral reprimand, but that would be it.

In my country , teachers still practice these old methods . But the problem is that most of parents allowed teachers to execute physical punishment beleiving that is a right way to educate . Fortunatly , nowadays people start to be aware about the effects of those bad habits inside the kids . But this phenomene still hasn't disappear completly yet

Sexual attraction.

I don't care about a troll who doesn't pay for his opinion telling me how to review movies.
