Lars Von Trier is one of my favourite directors along with 'Stanley Kubrick,Steven Speilberg and Quention Tarintino. I love his work and I'm pretty sure the last movie he made was melancholia which was a fantastic piece of art and when I heard of the story about a woman who is a nymphomaniac,I thought it would be art filled porn like how some porn directors would just give a story like a teacher would just be in a classroom when she decides to yeah now... Well I expected this to be a porno but with actual effort in it but I was wrong,this movie was very good,I loved the plot,Charlotte Gainsbourge,Stacy Martin and William Dafoe were absolutely amazing in this movie it was a bit like fifty shades of grey meets a documentary or something. I never saw the second film but I heard its a lot more sexual and more intresting than the first film. Ntmphomaniac is a outstanding movie directed by Lars Von Trier starring Charlotte Gainsbourge and Stacy Martin. 8.5/10

Even mentioning this morons name in the same sentence as Kubrick's is blasphemous. You should be ashamed of yourself, this loons not even fit to lick Kubrick's boots. By the way, Willem Dafoe isn't even in this film, but nice try.

Willem Dafoe is in vol 2, dnt know what film you saw.

Mentioning taratino & spielbergs name along side Kubricks is dumb.

If Stanley was still alive he would appreciate Von Trier's films I can guarantee you that.

Visually perhaps, but stick your guarantee in the toilet where it belongs. Kubrick would have laughed off Von Trier's childishly incompetent dialogue in any of his films, and within a few scenes I'm sure. You're actually one of these loons that thinks this guy is a great writer, LMFAO!

I love Polanski and Lynch as filmmakers, but you really lost me with von Trier and De Palma being in your top 5 directors. Laughable!

IDC wha the OP said, Willem D is in the film. And its called having a vast array of tastes in my choices of the film directors I like. Nympho should be viewed like the kill bill's, as one film. You *beep* see the point now??

Sure I love Lynch & Polanski. Bergman is amazing, the guy says more in a 90min film than most filmmakers do in their entire careers. With that being said, some of his films are a chore to watch even if they are beautifully shot and seeing most of them once is enough. Dnt get me wrong tho, I do love Bergman. Persona is one my Fav of my fav films as is cries and whispers, those I can re-watch. Some of the films I've seen by Bergman don't have the re-watchable quality tho like Von-Trier and esp DePalma. Like I said, I don't like watching things that are a chore (citizen kane etc..)

DePalma is one of the, if not THE most underrated American film director of all time.

Dressed to kill, Sisters, Phantom of the paradise, Blowout, Body Double, Raising Cain, Carrie. Wake up man!

Von Trier was heavily influenced by Bergman, that ill agree. But most his films are not a complete chore to watch. Melancholia is easily one of the best films of the decade, and prob will go down as one of the best films of all time along with some of Bergmans films. So will Europa.

It's also called having opinions, I know no one likes them or likes to hear them. But after reading your post now I'm LMFAO.

Willem Dafoe is in Nymphomaniac the film. Its one movie, broken down into 2 parts, like kill bill. IDK why thats so hard 2 understand. Even if the OP did not see the second prt, you coming here spewing your worthless nonsense and criticism was enough of a warrant for me to at least make my point.

Ive read numerous books on Kubrick and I'm currently reading one written by his personal assistant thats mainly about him as a person and not as a filmmaker, and ill repeat, I guarantee you that he would appreciate the work of von trier.

So take your opinions and shove them right up your aXX! they belong there..........

It's dumb posts like this that are getting the boards taken away from us. Please remember in the post-boards world, it's okay if someone likes movies you don't like. It doesn't mean they're stupid and it doesn't necessarily mean you're stupid for missing what they saw in it. You can just move on to the next movie without having a meltdown.
