Anyone else think the character of Romain reminded them of a young version of Woody Allen or at least his films. European/US settings (Barcelona, Moscow, NYC). Complicated, sad sack life. Major female characters. Visits by dead German philosophers.

The first thing I thought about was Woody Allen, particularly the arrivals of Schopenhauer and Hegel.

I must disagree, Xavier is much too hip, and desirable to the opposite sex, I am also a Woody-ite
