Surprisingly well-crafted

Didn't go into this show with much expectations as Spenny is mostly known for the pseudo-unscripted reality competition show "Kenny Vs. Spenny". This show will NOT appeal to most fans of the latter. Having said that, "Single White Spenny", in the tradition of fellow Canadian single-cam sitcom "Corner Gas", is surprisingly well-crafted. Do go into this show with an open mind; it's cartoonish, but it does take unpredictable roads. I'm on episode four right now and I will be committing to the whole season.

I guess the only piece of criticism I have at this point would actually be regarding Spencer Rice. He's effective as the lead, in general; it just seems that some of the voice-over narrative needs more work. He always sounds like he's reading off of a script when he's narrating. A lack of inflection and intonation. Perhaps some vocal coaching?
