Why didn't the Mexicans build walkways to cross between buildings?

This movie has a cool premise but it makes Mexicans look dumb if they don't even think of building covered walkways between buildings so they can get around. They could have constructed the pieces inside the buildings, and then put them together piece by piece until each building was connected.

Also, for a country that supposedly has drug cartels and gangs and borders Texas, it seems strange that in the movie, there was only ONE guy who had a gun. No wonder people were upset that Eric Holder gave them guns... If the Mexican cartels are that bad without guns, can you imagine how bad they are with all of Eric Holder's guns?

Also, this movie was recommended on an American blog, and was streaming on American netflix, yet somehow everybody in the movie was speaking Mexican and I had to stop the movie and figure out how to add subcaptions for translation to American. If this movie is on AMERICAN netflix and is recommended to AMERICAN users then it should be in OUR language.

Your comment, really sets a new standard in idiocy.

Can you really be THAT stupid to post what you just did? Surely you must be joking in some way? You rant on about Mexicans and drug cartels etc.

This film is not set in Mexico, it is set in SPAIN, eg EUROPE, and they are speaking Spanish, I can assure you the country of Spain does not border any US state.

The entire film is set in Barcelona. I had to login just to reply to you, because i am astounded by the pure level of stupidity in your post. There is no such language as Mexican, it is called Spanish, a language spoken by over 400 million people all across the globe.

You have absolutely zero respect for foreign films, sure it's on Netflix, so other a thousand other titles that are not in english. And the language you are looking for is called ENGLISH, not AMERICAN. It is a language, that originates from ENGLAND. The forefathers whom founded your nation.

You set the perfect example for the stereotype that Americans get around the world, for being ignorant of the world around them, so ignorant that the only countries you probably think exist, are those that border the US such as Canada and Mexico. But in reality there are 196 countries in the world, and over 6,500 spoken different languages.

You seem to think, yours is the only one that matters or even should exist.

I think you fell for a troll.

I really hope that was a troll, LOL, otherwise that would be really sad.

A little harsh there. Yes, confusing Spanish people and setting for Mexicans was dumb. But if you have traveled enough you'll realize people are alike all over. England and France and yes Spain and even Denmark, they all have their share of idiots just like America does.

BAHAHAHA!!

Holy brain death, Batman! That sentence alone tells it all. Nice post, there, Emperor Tod.

I'm an atheist, yet, I am sitting here praying to God that you are just trolling. The world already thinks Americans are in full-retard mode and here you are hammering the stereotype home. I actually thought you were trolling at first. I don't even know where to begin but, I'll try.

First, they were not Mexican, they were European Spanish. Anyone with a minimum of two brain cells who has ever spoken to a Mexican person, even if they don't speak Spanish, would know would be able to tell the difference. Even if you were too dim to tell, the news broadcasts described events occurring overseas, including America and Canada; it was clear that these people were not on the North American continent.

Second, no one "speaks American" or "Speaks Mexican." It's called Spanish and English. THe movie also featured what may have been Castilian.

Third, there is a large population of people worldwide who enjoy watching foreign films and hate audio dubbing; we're happy to hear a film in another language and simply follow subtitles so, there's no need to "make it in our language."

Fourth, how hard is it to find the freakin captions in Netflix? There's literally only a handful of buttons on the screen. Oh, and by the way genius, I watched it on Netflix to and the audio description next to the caption option explicitly reads that the movie is in "European Spanish," so how the hell did you think these were Mexican people?

Fifth, if you are a troll; why troll such an exceptional movie? Go troll one of those crappy superhero movies.

reply

Wow. The Mexicans in this movie really ate stoopid, yo. Just the dumbest.

Wait a sec...

reply

Obnoxious post there, but I'll give you the point about building extensions. I wish the film explored other such attempts. How about getting blind drunk or drugged? All they showed was a guy driving.

reply

Oh wow I laughed my ass off with this post. Either a dumb troll, a big ignorant, or someone who's not really watched the movie. As much as I dislike Spain, I think it's pretty easy to tell Barcelona apart from latin-american *beep*

Spain resembles Mexico as much as major US cities do Nigeria.(well, maybe Chicago? :D)
Spaniards resemble mexicans as much as (white) "americans" resemble indians.
Spanish and Catalonian languages resemble latin american "spanish" as much as English does Chinese.

The movie was terrible btw, I gave it a 1/10, but while I don't like Spanish I still would hate to watch it dubbed to English. (yeah I'm one of those mentioned in some post who generally hate dubs).

It's obvious that the OP was created to elicit the type of response found in the post above. Mexico may have it's share of problems (the billion dollar drug market created by an insatiable US demand) and being next door to the US it receives more attention than most.

But knowing a bit about the country, it is evident that it is not even close to resembling any African country. For example its economy it's in the Top 20 in the world and occasionally in the Top 10. And there are several cities that have fairly good standard of living comparable to many so-called first world nations. Whilst is true that there's a great variety of phenotypes among the population there's also a sizable portion that have european features.

I don't know about the analogy that castilian from europe and Latin America are as different as English and chinese. Argentinians, Colombians and yes even Mexicans and individuals from Spain that I've me never had any issues understanding and communicating. Catalan is a totally different matter though.
