How far could the teapot be?

I know, it is fiction, there is no answer, but ... we see that the teapot generates money when it is near pain, physical or emotional. But it can't be too far, what is your own personal guess as to how close it has to be?

Mine is within 18 feet. Any farther away and it will not respond.
