I cannot for the life of me, believe that most reviews on IMDB and comments on this message board totally slam TI West for his simple, yet direct, social commentary on arguably THE most devastating emotion event in any pregnant or wanting to be pregnant woman's life!
Did not ANYBODY witness the mother's absolute lack of ANY emotional attachment to the passing of her own dead baby???? The fact that she could just casually run around her apartment searching for a plunger, dressed in red pants and heels?
THAT is horror...
But after viewing this very clever short several times, it seems apparent that since we never see her using the toilet, it might not even be HER miscarriage! And it might not after all, be her apartment she's searching in, as indicated by her unknowing simply where the plunger is!

They bash it because Ti West clearly didn't understand the assignment. His short is embarrassing compared to the others. It's insultingly simple, not clever and boring. Worst of all, it's only a minute long which screams his extreme egoism.

"Insultingly simple, not clever and boring" also applies to House of the Devil, IMO.

You can dislike it, but this ranting about it being bad compared to the others is even ridiculous in the face of some of the horrors here that made NO sense or were gross and crude. Yeah, it was short; maybe more effort could have been done, but it was not at all meaningless or without a point.
