Glad to see the folks at Sega are finally waking up.

After the disastrous speed bumps that were Sonic 06 and the Storybook Sonic games, not to mention the stopgap that passed as Sonic 4, I for one am glad to finally see a modern-day, post-Sonic-Adventure game that - surprise, surprise, doesn't suck. I understand that any franchise must change and experiment in order to sustain itself, but could it be that Sega and Sonic Team have actually paid attention to what the fans want?

Indeed, Generations really does seem like a love letter to the fanbase, and I love how the game cleverly acknowledges the 16-bit Sonic saga by making that version of the character the current version's past/younger self. Not to mention all the sly little references that only the longtime, die-hard Sonic fans would catch.

The big high point for me though, is the soundtrack. I utterly adore how the Classic Sonic theme's have been remixed in a way that updates them, yet still retains that classic Genesis/Mega Drive vibe.

So far - I'm currently on the Seaside Hill level - I'd absolutely say its worth the price tag.

We all have our problems, some just hide it better.
