Fake teeth

I am talking about Mud's teeth. Why do they do that? Why do they make actors wear fake ugly teeth?

reply

Because Matthew McConaughey's character wouldn't be believable if he looked like his normal self. Mud couldn't have a flawless physical appearance, so the teeth gave him flaws. It wasn't to make him look "ugly".

his locks looked pretty tousled

Hey folks,

For many years, Robert Duvall has used a prosthetic device to make his teeth look crooked. He does not use it in all his films, but he has used it as far back as the early 1960s.

Best wishes,

It isn't unusual to have fake teeth. What about "Jaws?" Then there was the Gyro Pilot in the original "Road Warrior." I know there's plenty of others. It's really no different than wigs, fake beards, fake scars, etc.

You mean the shark had fake teeth? 

Sorry, I was referring to the Bond villian.

I found the fake teeth distracting. Wasn't necessary.
