Back when i was a kid there was a show on nick called "All That" and that was on their network for a little more then ten years. Now the stupid and retarded disney channel did this! All That was WAY more funny and had remarkable sketches (i.e. Good Burger, Vital Information). Wat does this have complete crap from disney. Its enough they ruined doug with disneys doug, spongebob with fish hooks, and now all that with so random. They need to do ORIGINAL projects!
i understand that completely, all i am saying is that the show all that was better on nick and disney does a lot of stuff rrelated to nick. if they wanted to write sketches, they shoulve revived all that
Personally, I find So Random funnier. And yes, I was a 90's kid.
I argee with Ventsy. I used to watch All That when I was younger, but now, I like So Random, and I watch it all the time when it comes on Sunday nights.

All That(1994-2005) it could be said they were a rip off of Kids Incorporated (1984-1993), which in turn was a rip off of You Can't Do That on Television (1979-1990) .. all series had new stars (All That - Amanda Bynes, Kids Incorporated - Stacy Ferguson, and YCDToT - Alanis Morissette) ..
and just FYI i'm not a '90s kid .. I grew up watching YCDToT on CBC here in Canada
This has been bought up numerous times already, on this board Op,.. I for one also find So Random funnier than all that which was a rip off of The Carol Burnette show, the Mickey Mouse Club ,Judy Garland show ETC.,I was a 90's teenager.

All That 1.0 was much funnier than this, but seems like this show feels more like the bastard child of In Living Color than anything else. The credits are so flagrantly stolen. Maybe it's an "homage."
Before All That was Roundhouse. Anyone remember Roundhouse on Nick? It was co-created by an In Living Color writer. I was 7 at the time, but I thought it was pretty funny.
When I saw the OP, I actually thought "Well, didn't Roundhouse come before All That?" Glad someone else remembers it. But I also remember another show on Nick even before that called Don't Just Sit There that was also along the same lines as the previous shows mentioned in this thread. It's just sad that some people think that when one variety/sketch show for kids ends, that there should never be shows like that again. Would hate to see what happens when Saturday Night Live ends and another sketch show comes along after that.
There's a reason why there are similarities between "So Random" and "All That" and the biggest reason is Brian Rollins was an executive producer on "All That" and is a current co-creator and producer on "So Random". There's always going to be certain similarities between sketch comedy shows, but "So Random" does completely rip off "All That" in some ways. The "Learning Spanish" sketch is the repackaged version of "Everyday French", "Tantrum Girl" is "Ask Ashley", putting ketchup on everything is the Randy and Mandy sketch where they would put chocolate on everything. They've even gone as far to trying to find a replacement Amanda Bynes in Ashley Arm (I think that's her name). They even ripped off an SNL sketch with the Wheel of Fortune bit, as it's been done with Celebrity Jeopardy. It's definitely lacking creativity, and honestly the majority of the cast looks very disinterested and forcing things to try to be funny.

This show is most similar to 'All That' for obvious reasons but the cast doesn't have the same comedic timing as Kenan,Kel,Amanda and even Drake & Josh who were co-stars on Amanda's show. The Disney actors & actresses just don't seem to make "silly" work for them.
"It's like yelling at babies for not changing their own diapers!"
I think the reason for that is there is only one cast member that is actually in the age bracket that Disney is targeting. The others know the material isn't funny, but Allysin Ashley Arm doesn't, and she's the only one that even tries to sell the material.

That's the problem I have with everything Disney. They have 18 or 19 year olds playing parts that should be played by 12, 13, or 14 YOs. The problem is Disney gets stuck on actors/actresses that have had big success, but they grow up and Disney doesn't want to lose their money income. I think they should stick with their only 2 season- 24 episode contract. It's a kids show played by adults. So Random should ditch the older actors (not that they're not great actors) and find younger kids to play new parts. It's a new show; herego, new actors.
Actually I think a couple of them started out on Nickelodeon, and then were picked up by Disney. The problem I have with Disney though is that they used to turn out quality driven material, but have largely made themselves a shell of their former self. My nieces (five and four respectively) don't watch anything on Disney, though they do have a couple of the older princess movies. Without any prompting from me they will watch something on Nickelodeon. I can't say that I blame them, even though Nickelodeon is a far cry from it's former self as well. The writing and the acting on just about all these Disney shows is awful. And many of the Disney stars have turned into trainwrecks.
It's not that I necessarily have a problem with older kids or young adults doing this, it's that they are at the point in their life where they realize the material stinks, and they don't sell it as being funny. It all looks forced, except Allysin who I think actually thinks the material is funny. If you want to look at great sketch comedy pulled off by young adults aimed at pre-teen and teen audiences, look at Nickelodeon's show Roundhouse. That was brilliant.

Well to make this easy on everyone... the show was created by Brian Robbins, who was one of the creators of All That and who also starred on Head of the Class with All That/Keenan & Kel/Drake & Josh/iCarly/Victorious creator/writer Dan Schneider.
