Who writes Joe Kenda's dialogue?

Joe Kenda has some great lines, and I wonder if he writes any of that himself? Who ever is writing for this show should go work on Criminal Minds or NCIS, as those shows could use great lines!

For as long as I've watched this show I've always been under the impression that most, if not all, of what Kenda says is off-the-cuff. The shows' writers simply write the narration and the scripts for the re-enactments, I'm assuming.

He has a lot of good one-liners. Reminds me of Jerry Orbach when he was Det. Briscoe on the Law and Order shows.

Classics.

They're all his own recollections according to Wikipedia.

As eblocced pointed out, Wikipedia tells Lt. Joe's story - (the lt joe kenda page ...... it's an interesting read - the section called "Television career" answers all your questions) 

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot - than to open it and remove all doubt!

According to what I've read originally he was to read scripts, Kenda refused to do so and told them to find someone else if they wanted a scripted show.

So they decided to allow him to tell the stories in his own words.
