Very good little horror flick
Lots of snobs on imdb. This want "Halloween" or anything but it did what it set out to do IMO.

shareThe only time I wasted with this movie was reading snarky comments by people who think they're film critics. People who think they know what makes a good movie, but really only parrot things they heard other people say. People bitch about CGI this and CGI that, and 'where are the practical effects', and then a movie comes out, and they bitch about THOSE effects. Aside from the father, I personally enjoyed the movie just fine.
shareit was indeed nice to see practical gore effects but they showed the movie's DTV budget. if the blood didn't look like colored water spurting out, it would have helped a lot because the makeup itself was pretty good for a little movie.
shareI agree with Kyrix. I was also shocked to see this had such a low rating. I forget how I heard about it, but the trailer mentioned it had an old school feel and sold me on the movie.
I watched the movie and I was not disappointed. I got a modern film with an old school feel too it, and goddamn that monster is one of the coolest movie monsters I have ever seen. The practical effects made it even more worth it. They don't make movies like this anymore and it's a *beep* shame.
I think it's worth at least a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. It's not the best horror movie I have ever seen, but it's much better than most of the *beep* that passes off for horror these days. And it's not a remake, so there is also that.
