well ok than lets talk a bit about this film

Who has the heart to tell the Director he is moving in the wrong direction.
this film was like a car stuck in the snow Good tires swell motor all the plates and stickers paid for
but the wheels just continued to spin and spin going no where at all.I'm not one of those arm chair quarterbacks that criticizes FILM MAKERS i give the movie the benefit of the doubt producing a film is hard work.We all have to understand that if we have great films being produced then we have to have bad ones also .the only good thing i have to say about this movie was it gave some unknown actors a pay check and practice plus a chance to be seen. BRAVO.

I enjoyed the first half of this film. Cristin Milioti has been a favorite of mine since she played Johnny Sac's daughter on The Sopranos. The casting was good and so were the performances. The lighting was a little blown out in the beginning but overall it was nicely shot. Unfortunately the story got increasingly muddled and fizzled out. I might have dozed off at the end and missed something but I don't have a clue what the ending was about.

The director would probably do better with someone else's screenplay. One that was better developed.

You're not the only one. I watched the whole thing, didn't miss a minute of it, and I still have no idea what the ending was all about. I don't know who was real and who wasn't, or who did what. A complete ripoff.

I don't understand all the hate towards this movie! I thought it was actually pretty good.

As for what was real and what wasn't: Lucy imagined Wade. She was having a break from reality caused by having a baby when she wasn't ready due to a traumatic childhood. I thought that twist was awesome. I didn't see it coming and I usually figure these things out early. She wasn't being haunted. It was all in her head. At the end her sister/cousin got custody of the baby bc both parents were dead (she killed herself by electrocuting herself in the bathtub).

Well, I'm glad you figured all that out, because I sure didn't. An ending to a movie is pointless if the viewer is not prepared for it, if the viewer has to rethink everything in 2 minutes. That's why I say it is a ripoff.

reply

Actually it isn't a rip off. It's genius. Not that I'm saying this movie was anywhere near as good as The Sixth Sense but it's a similar concept. My guess is that if we go back and watch it a 2nd time there may be things we missed that point to Lucy's delusions. I started to suspect something when her friend kept telling her "when you're ready" they'll talk about it. He questioned her about Wade which makes you think he's stalkerish but it was pointing to the truth.

I really liked this movie.

I liked it a lot up until the end. I like for stories to unfold logically, organically. I'm not a fan of surprise twists at the end, although I know that puts me in the minority of film fans today. I have a problem with most modern movies. It seems that they all rely on vagueness to keep you interested, but it has the opposite effect on me. If I have to work too hard to know what is going on, it is no longer a pleasure and I just get bored. This one did keep me there until that ending. They were just not specific enough in letting us know just what happened, in my opinion.

Weren't the "hauntings" supposed to be her memories, which most likely caused her trauma? After all, she was adopted. And I take it that Wade was an alternate personality of sorts?
