What horrible parents, how depressing

This was so gut wrenching. I had my tubes tied at age 30. I wish more people DID NOT make kids, what horrible parents.
Please don't marry freshly divorced and fighting ex-es... Why are people so naïve :(

They were beyond horrible

I understand your point but it's a hard sell to the self-absorbed.

Look at all the babies and children that eventually "age out" of foster care because people WANT/NEED a child with their own DNA. Look at all the people that protest and blow up abortion clinics (I doubt any of them are helping a scared, exhausted and overwhelmed mother who only brought her child into the world out of guilt).

It's ridiculous and it's not going to improve until people start accepting their own limitations and sincerely work on self-improvement. Society will also have to stop dictating what everyone "should" and "should not" be doing. Until people can stop basing their self-esteem and sense of self on "group acceptance" (ie. at school, work, in the neighborhood, at church, etc.) they will always follow the masses and do what they think is expected of them regardless of the negative "costs" to the children exposed to their narcissism.

Yes, the narcissism evidenced in society these days is entirely depressing. People so obsessed with RIGHTS vs responsibilities.

I saw the movie yesterday and was really shocked at how her biological parents were totally ignorant on how to properly take care of their child. I agree that some people should never be blessed with the gift of parenthood...
