Comedy? I dont think so *Spoiler*

This was noway a comedy there were very few comedy moments. It actually turned my stomach when Mark Ruffalo character Adam played out the incest role play (Dad and Daughter) with the obviously very vulnerable and disturbed Becky. That and the son who was abused by Mike as a kid. The only comedy moments came from Neil who was actually very out of character in this movie.

Oh my god!!! I totally agree!

I think advertising this as a comedy is a flat out lie. It is a drama with a few comedic moments. There were no laugh-out-loud funny bits in this film at all. Actually the part where Josh Gad is on the phone to Pink was pretty funny but that was in the trailer. Nevertheless I thought it was quite good for a drama but that scene with Becky was a bit weird for sure.

They definitely did this movie an injustice by marketing it as a romantic comedy. They would have done better marketing it as a drama, with splashes of lighthearted moments. I thought the second half of the trailer (to Demons, by Imagine Dragons) was more of a real look at what the movie was going to be about, and even that didn't get it 100 percent right.

They CAN call it a comedy. All tough in think it's more a drama the a comedy, and romantic, only the little bit in the park.
I do think it's a good film, all the actors did a good job.
The scene with Becky was pretty disturbing. Role play is not new but it sure was unsettling. With her totally losing it, that was flat at dramatic and scary.

I'd watch the movie again, because did like the movie.

Agree. IMBD even has the 'romantic comedy' label in the page, but I don't think a) has enough comedy to be called that and b) romance? where? There are some moments that do help 'lighten' the film but I was surprised how how many topics this film tackled (and did a pretty good job at).

I agree, I didn't see anything funny about it at all and the marketing of it is an outright lie.

Categorizing it as a comedy is like calling 'Lincoln' sci-fi. It's a seriously dark and bleak drama.

I agree. It has been done before though. Maybe they sell more tickets that way. And let's face, movies about addiction are often difficult to sit through. I think this is an excellent movie though.
