Colin Farrell's 'British' accent

Wow what a horrible job. I'm halfway thru and I barely noticed he was attempting an accent. I think he's a great actor but not so well with the accent.

reply

Oops. I guess its irish. Considering he was born in Ireland.. LOL. Didn't know that. I've never heard any accent in any other movie he's been in. is he actually trying to fake it? If so, it's still terrible. Too inconsistent

reply

Billy mentions that he's Irish, and if his accent sounds a bit inconsistent, that could easily be explained by his character having lived in the states for a long time.

reply

It is an Irish accent. Because he is Irish...

He did his own accent in In Bruges and loads of others.

so... a native born irishman needs to work on his accent is what you're saying? considering you cant' tell an irish accent from an english one, i think i'll disregard this whole post.

however, if this was your attempt at trolling, i'll just say

meh..

reply

And the character he's playing is an Irishman that lives in the states. What are you missing?

reply

Why don't you read the other comment I wrote. English, Irish; they sound pretty damn close when you are American. I didn't know he spoke naturally with an Irish accent until further research on him. As i stated above as well.

Only one troll on this posting and it ain't me playa.

Dude, from one American to another, speak for yourself. I am hardly the biggest patriot, but I take exception when someone uses the word "American" when they really meant "ignorant." ---It wants no straps. - Karlhttp://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000024/nest/158601447

reply

English and Irish accents sound nothing like each other to be honest.

Not to an intelligent person who actually listens when people speak. It's easy to tell English, Irish and Scottish people apart based on their accents.

reply

Not unless your IQ is less than 100 you should be able to tell the difference.

I'm a Troll

My IQ is considerably less than 100, yet I can assure you I have no trouble differentiating Irish, English and Scottish accents.

reply

Go back to Israel.

reply

Go back to Israel.

Please explain why you incorrectly think I'm from Israel.

reply

I've never heard anyone say that English and Irish accents sound similar! A lot of Americans seem to find it hard to differentiate between English and Australian accents though.

Speak for yourself!! You're the kind of moron that makes people hate Americans. I'm American and they sound VERY different to me.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

That's just him speaking in his native accent. I think he would know better than you what he normally sounds like.

reply

Like many other actors, living in the states eventually their accent isn't as strong. Robert Pattinson had to get an accent coach to relearn his English accent after living in the States for so long.

reply

😑 Colin Farrell is from Dublin.

reply

Lol yeah. I saw that after I made the post. It was a fail. LOL. I'm just used to his American accent.. And then of course shortly after I posted this, I see him on either the tonight show or jimmy kimmel. Or some other late night show and he was talking in Irish accent

reply

This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever clicked on. So closeted, you didn't think maybe he's Irish or ever heard the accent before? Log off.

reply

Off the top of my head, he speaks in the exact same way in In Bruges and Ballykissangel. So he probably just talks that way, you know, Irish.

reply

It was more than great. It was Grand.
