Watched the trailer...I'm confused.

Okay, so Robert DeNiro and Diane Keaton were married, and they adopted the groom. Right? Maybe they had Katherine Heigl the old fashioned way, or is she the daughter of DeNiro and Surandon? So there's a biological mother, since the groom is adopted, and she thinks divorce is evil, so DeNiro and Keaton pretend to be together. I think I've got that much down. But Heigl says something in the trailer that I don't understand. She says something to DeNiro like. "So and So got Mom's traits, while I got both of you." That's a paraphrase of course, but I don't know what she means. Aye aye aye, this is complicated.

ETA I rewatched it and I kind of understand. Topher Grace is also one of the children, and his name is Jarod. The groom's name is Al. So Al is adopted and maybe Grace and Heigl are half siblings b/c Heigl says to DeNiro. "I'm your daughter. Jarod got all of mom's traits and I won the lottery with all of you." I'm still pretty confused.

I was very confused about the trailer as well. Looks like a pretty bad film.

That being said, I think that that line makes it clear that Topher and Katherine are not half siblings...

It look like an awful film. But you're right, they're not half siblings I think. To the OP, I'm pretty sure when she said 'I'm your daughter' she just meant because she was so much like him, instead of being anything like her Mom (who she obviously prefers). You know, like when people say: 'Such and such is SO her father's daughter'.

From this awful looking movie -- i got the impression Heigl and Topher are brother and sister from Keaton/Dinero... and she was pointing out that she preferred having keaton's traits not dinero's traits (i guess bc he's a cheater, but i don't think that is the trait heigl was talking about - dinero must have other "quirks" that she inherited).. i will wait to watch online NOT wasting my money - even though i love topher grace and amanda seyfield as actors.
