Saw it yesterday. I didn't expect much since almost all comments on this board were negative. Well I was pleasantly surprised! It did start off slow...very slow but after about 20 minutes or so you start figuring out who everybody is and how they all tie in together. There were some chuckle moments some LoL moments AND some hilarious moments. Along with some touching moments. All in all I'm glad I went. Please don't let all the negativity keep you from seeing this. I'll probably get it on blue ray when it comes out.

By far, the worst movie I've seen. The opening scenes of awkwardness just permeated the entire movie. It doesn't even deserve a review. Note to director: If you want people to like your characters (even like to hate them), give us something to like. Start with the script.

Same as you... Was dragged along but was pleasantly surprised... Was mildly entertaining and not as bad as I expected.

I think the IMDB rating is about right, 5/10 is not good, but also not bad.

Your review is fairly accurate , saw this movie yesterday , it gave pretty much what i expected ! Its good without being great and its poor without being rubbish in equal measure . Im still not convinced about De-Nero and comedy.

People have very different opinions on films so no one should ever be persuaded to watch or not to watch something.
Like transformers 3. I actually hated that movie above all others but others adored it.. so just goes to show how different we all are.

I've just seen this film and expected it to bore me. I hated the trailer and the critics are awful. Sometimes, it really seems to be the best to expect the worst so that you can be surprised. That's what has happened this time. I felt entertained, i had a good time. Of course, the movie does many mistakes but i had the feeling that it didn't had the intention to be more than a sweet family comedy without being great - not so with Hangover 3 who wants you to laugh each minute so badly and fails. I would gave it a 6/10 rating, i've seen many other films who were REALLY terrible and this one was enjoyable.

I think this might be too offending to Americans. It has been well liked here in Europe. It is good for what it is. A few laughs and not take the movie too seriously. It was a good time. Minus te slutty sister storyline.

Same. It wasn't Oscars material obviously, but it was fun, and there were quite a lot of LOL moments. Madonna, perhaps, described it the best for me - it was very much like watching a Telenovela. All the insane plot twists and the family drama. :P

I did wince during the scene where De Niro proposes to Bebe though. That was a bit too saccharine for me.

Perhaps people don't like it because it's a different, gentler perhaps, kind of comedy than the ones more common nowadays. And it pretty much revolved around a small (but stellar) cast in just one place. Not something most people are used to in this age of fart-joke comedies.

I watched this yesterday. I thought it was amusing. So much better than expected.
