Bringing in a Crazy homeless girl

Hollywood romantizes the street girl and the older man as savior.
Depicting the reality would be far more interesting and disturbing.
The reality is the street girl is usually so messed up, and so riddled with addictions and probably an std that the sucker who thinks he'll save her puts his life in jeopardy in the process.
Movies like this give a wrong message: The man is a sugar daddy, in a exploitative role. And the girl feels that all she has to offer is her body and maybe a reckless, carefree view. But the reality is, many street people not only carry serious baggage (as do many not from the street) but they carry a whole host of mental illnesses as well. It is true that many people want to run away from their lives and hate who they are, but this girl, as in the case of the many who have found themselves on the street for a long time because of sexual abuse or childhood trauma, don't like who she is and has to create a new persona and will recreate herself again and again. But she will never feel complete without therapy. Therefore, this created reality, as well as this movie, is based on lies.. The girl will eventually have to come to grips with who she is as will the man. There should have never been a romance. As he comes to grip with who he is, for the girl if he truly liked her, he should've just helped her find a therapist.
Never romanticize a street person and think your romantic love will change them and save them. Even if the love is real, only years of therapy and strong spiritual conviction will be the only thing that sustains their recovery.
