I can't get the bottle open!

I know i'm a terrible person for this...but that made me lol.
Also...if she didn't take any pills, how come she had to go to the hospital?

reply

I laughed at that part too.

I sent that b!tch a smiley face, b!tches LOVE smiley faces.

reply

Me too...lol.
And if you attempt suicide and stuff you're normally put in the mental institution/on suicide watch so it might be something like that, but I haven't watched it yet so I don't know lol.

It depends on who you go to. My therapist did nothing when I told her how I do a lot.

reply

I guess just to make sure she didn't do anything else to her body, and she was emotionally unstable.

reply

But she was in a hospital bed and stuff. And the doctor said she had to stay to make sure she was stable. I don't know if he meant "emotionally" or not. I don't know. Just a little confusing..

in most states (not all) when you try to commit suicide, you no longer have the right to decide what's medically best for you because of your state of mind. Once you're in the hospital, doctors have to evaluate you to see if you're not a danger to yourself before they let you go. If they let you go before that and something happens to you, they'd be liable.

reply

Oh, okay. Yeah that makes more sense.

reply

They don't put you on 72 hour hold at a medical hospital. That happens at mental hospitals, and you don't sleep in a gurney. Its more like a hotel room.
The real answer is, they knew their target audience would get confused by a mental hospital setting so they put her in a medical hospital so it was obvious that she was hospitalized.

Hospital.

If you're declared a danger to yourself, or anyone else, they'll usually put you in a hospital.

In the US the exact statute depends on the state, but the general rule is that you can be held against your will if deemed an acute risk to yourself or someone else, pending a psychiatric evaluation (the time they can hold you before a psych eval varies). The operative word here is acute -- we can't hospitalized people against their will just for being suicidal, the person needs to present an imminent danger to life or limb.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

It's okay! I laughed too! Lmaoooooooooo

I was crying from the point where she started to make the video all the way through when she was in the hospital. The line about not being to open the bottle was heart breaking. I guess I can understand how someone who has not had anything happen to them in relation to suicide might find it humorous, or think I am crazy for crying.

come on, I've tried to off myself and I still found it humourous.

reply

I seriously started crying, stopped to crack up at that line, and then started again.

I have personally never experienced anything like that. Yet I felt heartbroken at what was happening to her. I think its natural to be sympathetic to other's plight. Those who find these things hilarious are probably the same people who would be laughing at such videos if someone they knew posted it online.

I thought she had stabbed herself, with the way she was holding the pill bottle to her stomach. I was a bit disappointed.

reply

Me too!!

I went from "oh no" to "hahahaha."

Suicide isn't funny, nor is attempted suicide, but come on! That scene was too much. That's something I would expect from a spoof.

reply

I thought so, too!

But that damn bottle! Hahaha! It would've been so much better if she had taken some already, instead of that scene. It really killed the mood.

reply

I know. I felt horrible as well. Hahaha! I thought I was the only one.
