Yes, and I was also concerned that she might crash the boat into the jetty and take out some of the local fishermen. ;)

The only thing I thought of with that scene was: Yeah, like Abby didn't have the time to splash some water on her face between the island and the docks (keeping in mind that Lou would've likely informed her about her excessively bloody face). As such, the scene struck me as contrived, like the director wanted to make a point with that visual.

On reflection, though, it could be argued that the two were in shock and Lou was seriously wounded, even at death's door. Thus Abby was solely focused on getting back to civilization and much-needed medical attention. I'll go with this explanation.
