What do you guys think of Season 4 so far?

As much as I'm happy to see new episodes, I think Season 4 started on a very confusing note. When I saw Fiona being all friendly with Garreth and calling him "Dad", my only thought, knowing her, is that she was definitely plotting in the back to screw both him and Putsy over.

But two episodes in, it seems that was not the case and Garreth is probably out of the picture now after the customary three appearances, so now all I can think is that after Season 3 they changed their minds and decided to make Garreth more likable just because he's played by Billy Crystal. Once again Web Therapy jumps the shark on the character front, because I find it very hard to believe that Fiona would just be ok with Web Therapy being shut down.

Which by the way, we didn't even get to see! We never find out what Fiona did after that, and that's probably because they considered it and it would have been boring, and then decided it would be better for the show to pick up after she restores Web Therapy to life. That would be all well and good, except that it renders entirely moot the cliffhanger from the Season 3 finale. Oh well.

All that said, I'm enjoying Gwyneth Paltrow's character. I don't usually like her as an actress, but here she's clearly having fun with herself (which is all actors do on this show anyway), and it's been surprisingly nice to watch. So there's that, I guess. And I can't wait for Jon Hamm and Matthew Perry.

I thought it was the biggest disappointment. Most of it wasn't funny. Gwynth Paltrow wasn't bad, but there were no real LOL moments that I loved, and the outtakes at the end weren't even good.

John Hamm and Matthew Perry were disappointing

Remember us, for we too have lived, loved and laughed

Matthew Perry disappointed the hell out of me. Also what happened with this season that everybody seemed to take advantage of Fiona? She went from falling into a few traps because of her ego (but still very conniving) to extremely naive overnight.

Jon Hamm was such a bait and switch. When it turned out he was dating Putsy, I thought that was going to set up a major plot point, but then poof, never mentioned again. I felt like none of the avenues in this season really took off, which is a shame. Maybe Chelsea Handler's appearance set the bar too high for me, this time around even Kip was annoying.

I know I'll keep watching the show because I just love Fiona, but it doesn't entertain me as it did at a point.

I think there's a reason why Lisa Kudrow said that there might not be a season five. Shows naturally just run out of steam.. run out of new things to do and say and.. people know when it's time to go.
