The trailer confused the hell out of me... Is the whole film hypothetical or does an apocalyptic event actually occur?
shareIt's hypothetical. The characters never actually leave the classroom but we see their hypothetical as if they were happening (which is where your see visuals of apocalyptic events/scenes outside a class room)
shareactually it is worse. just so much: no real apocalyptic even. 3 hypothetical apocalyptic evens as part of a stupid and illogical mindgame in ... i kid you not .... a private academy for philosophy in indonesia, but all the pupils and the teacher are americans.

Ermmm given the accents I doubt all the stupids* were intended to be americans, several had UK accents, a few had Australian accents. If they were trying to be American though, I dunno why they were using their normal accents rather than trying to put on an accent.
*I wrote stupids on my first write and re-read my comment to check if it made sense, decided it was too funny to not leave in.
