23 minutes into this movie and I already want to turn it off, they chose an United State Senator because "they know the law" and "know how to lead". I think I'll throw up now.

That is true but in such a small group, accountability will be strong enough to restrain them. And essentially they will be a safety valve/peacemaker in the ensuing upheaval they will go through from privileged brats to living out a primitive existance.
