What was the point of this film?

I didn't watch the film all the way through.
The premise was interesting, but there were just sooo many things going wrong at the same time and in the end it was just too much and I had to turn it off.
So, I guess I'm asking, what is the story here?

Because it started out as an experiment, but then it got all personal and suddenly one student decides to take over and it becomes this battle of the sexes where he's like: You must be rational.
And she's like: I choose with love. I choose ebola..
And he's like: *beep* your love, I choose with manly violence!
And she's like: Gellato makers!
And he's like: B-Minus!
That's where I had to stop.

By far, the most awkward scene was the outing of the gay kid. I mean, what the *beep* was that? He hasn't been out to them all this time and then they suddenly decide that STATISTICALLY SOMEONE ELSE MUST BE GAY and he raises his hand, slowly.

So, yeah, what happened?
I understand he cheated with the notes? Why?

that was literally 10 minutes from the end

reply

Not 10 minutes, there was still some 25 - 30 minutes until the end. But yeah, he missed a good portion that would have answered his questions.

The point was to entertain people for 1:46.

To prove that the American education system isn't as bad as India's?

The film is set in Indonesia, not India.

So I'd say your point backfired a bit there...

the point is that the girl was *beep* the teacher and he was just being a dick to her boyfriend the whole time. I'm dead serious.

Your comment is a perfect summary - you win the internets.

I was actually surprised at that point that there was still like 30 minutes left. I didn't think they had time for another full iteration. But yeah, instead it was the most incredibly unsatisfying reveal. Because who cares why the teacher was picking on the boyfriend? Maybe he was always late to class, maybe he was stupid. How could I care about him or any of these other Ambercrombie & Fitch models?

reply

It had a really stupid ending, basically the teacher set up those hypothetical apocalypse settings for his students solely to see if he had any chance with the blonde chick (other than the sex that they were clearly having).

Like a 'not even if you were the last man on earth would I wanna be with you' experiment to see if it was so or not that she'd still not want to be with him in a relationship even if the doomsday hit them (which I guess he thought would be his only hope), turns out it was and he blew his brains out in the end.
