Altair vs Ezio, who was your favourite character?

For a personal favourite - Altair wins with me.

Before I start, I love Ezio, his whole revenge story is very much Punisher-like and in Brotherhood I felt like V from V for Vendetta. Also, he has Leonardo Da Vinci designing weapons for him. With all this in mind Altair has just as much depth. People complain that he didn't but look at his faith. He doesn't believe in any God (if he did, it would be in direct violation of "Nothing is true, everything is permitted) but he believes in the creed more than anything else. He is willing to follow Al Mualim's every word because he led the creed. After Altair gets used as a pawn to take out the remaining pieces Al Mualim takes the apple of Eden and uses it for his own purposes. Altair kills him but in the end he never had faith in Al Mualim - merely the creed he ran. Back then Faith was everything, The crusades were happening and on one side you had the Roman Catholics wanting the other nations to ignore their faiths and join Catholicism. One side was enforcing faith, the other side was fighting to keep it alive. The faith Altair had belonged to the creed; no religion, no God, no Allah. Just assassinating templars for the greater good.

Now you can answer with a long response or merely "Ezio" or "Altair", to be honest I don't care one way or another. I'm interested to hear opinions.

He is a very well written character and a bit more relate-able than Altair. I haven't started AC3 yet but I doubt if Connor Kenway will be anything on Ezio Auditore Da Firenze or Altair Ibn La Ahad as a character.

Ezio. Honestly, I think hes the most badass assassin out of the games, and on top of that he actually has a personality (funny, witty and charming). Altair was ok, but a tad too bland for my own taste.

Connor is an excellent protagonist, and honestly one of the best assassins in the series (loved his brooding demeanor).

Altair was my favorite; loved his arc in the first game (a fallen assassin trying to reclaim his honor), only to see he's an unwitting pawn in a much larger game.

Ezio from AC 2 and Brotherhood; he was kinda bland in Revelations

My personal favorite is Connor; brooding and intense.
