AP forgets that he killed a man!

In the scene right at the end of episode nine, when talking to the Special Forces guy, AP forgets that he himself had killed a man.
I think it was an oversight, else why would the writers not use the opportunity to inject a bit of comedy?

reply

It was no oversight. Forbes McAllister's family's lawyer asked that the writers not mention it for legal reasons.

reply

Forbes McAllister hated his family's lawyer.

reply

Not only that, in another episode he also forgets that there was a broadcast interview of him (as opposed to by him) before by Ray Woolard for Anglian Lives. So Alan on Alan or Partridge on Partridge is not a first!

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!

reply

It's also consistent with Alan's interest in the idea of killing, hence his interest in Michael's army background in IAP, and his lessons in 'moving and firing' at his afternoon show at the hotel.

'Ziggy Piggy'

reply

I think Alan was is the same frame of mind as his 'cousin' the swimming pool attendant. In 1975 - no one died. So despite the fatality he's still in self denial.

reply

It was forgotten in the movie also; the police asked if he had any experience of guns and AP just mentioned at the fairground.
