A one hour movie jammed into 110 minutes.

Fell asleep briefly during one of the repetitive "stumbling around in the dark following creaky noises" scenes.

Also kids aren't scary as villains. Nor are death metal dudes in masks.

The only scene that had me jump was the demon coming to life briefly on film.

Generic, moderately entertaining... Would have made a good X-FILES episode but not enough of a story for a movie.

Didn't find the look of the demon scary at all.Every time i saw his face it reminded me of the Crow.I thought the ghost kids were a little creepy though.

That kind of cheap scare was one of my main problems with the movie. Hawke's character was doing nothing special to warrant the movement. It served no purpose but to startle the audience instead of the character within the movie.
