There's someone in your yard

I just find this funny although it had no bearing at all on the plot of the movie.

Ethan Hawke sees the guy/monster from the movies in his yard staring from the bushes, as far as he knows there really is at least a serial killer on the loose who likes to kill families.

So what does he do? He takes a bat and steps out, leaving the door fully open and walks away from them so that anyone can now get in behind his back.

Again, this actually didn't matter at all for the movie or what he was really dealing with, but it was just hilarious decision making on his end.

lol..I actually thought this part was too funny to get mad at...due to his stupidly of course.

Reminded of that insurance commercial where they are spoofing the scary movie genre by having the young people making every wrong choice they can and the axe murderer is even shaking his head LOL

Strangely I'm rewatching the movie now (or technically, I'm on the laptop in the same room where someone else is watching it) and that scene aired right as I opened your post LOL.

Knock it off, Hudson.

I was shaking my head at the cliched behaviour in the movie. Ethan acted well, though. He appeared genuinely scared by what was happening, especially his startled shouts.
