did you feel unsatisfied when it ended?thought it shouldnt end this way?

personally, i didn't want it to end that way. i felt completely uncomfortable.
i expected some happy ending

reply

I liked the ending. I am glad it wasn't. "happy" ending.

Can you hear me?....They did this

reply

I think the film did its job. I didn't like the feeling either lol

I thought the ending was filled with so much dread and darkness.

What'd you say? 'Everything happens for a reason'.

reply

Yes, exactly.

Back off! ... Way off!

I don't mind unhappy endings in horror movies, in fact I usually find them more fitting. But I hated that it turned out the be the kids all along. That to me just felt dumb and cheesy.

reply

Who else could it have been? A child is missing from each family. I knew it was the kids as soon as I saw the first film reel. I don't know if it was dumb or cheesy, but kind of obvious for sure. I think it did make the name of the film much more fitting though. what is more sinister than little children murdering their entire families?

reply

It wasn't really "the kids all along." The kids were being used to commit the killings, but it's not like kids were just randomly murdering their families.

Also, it's so cliche'd when most the time the main charecters alway triumph, especially to reappear in a sequel. I digress, to the poster before this I say to you, these modern movies are great for the genre but are almost entirely set up for bad endings it's expected that the worst happens. *spoilers for paranormal act. Insidious*

I'm sure you agree with that, especially when movies like paranormal activity and Insidious exhibit this.

reply

I enjoyed the ending very much. Bugghul got what he wanted.

I liked the ending. 'Bad' endings are always more memorable and make films stand out more

reply

I liked it because it wasn't happy, why does everyone love cliches so much?
I personally thought it should have ended with the shot of blood stained walls, the next shot of her drawing what she did was kind of cheesy as was the shot of them transitioning into the film reel.

Out of all the horror movies released within the last decade or so, especially a supernatural themed one, this one, IMO, has the best ending ever.

This was one of the few horror films that I didn't say "The ending sucks".

Totally agreed, I thought it actually made a lot of sense, sometimes these movies have dumb endings that seem tacked on. This one everything made sense and was genuinely creepy.

You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

Eh, it was unsettling to be sure. Yet it did go with the rest of the movie, and was actually scary. This is more than most horror movies can say, when they try to shoehorn in a final scare by killing the last survivor in a dumb way. Yes, I love happy endings too, and would have liked to have seen one in this movie, but at least the ending they went with was actually somewhat befitting and well-executed.
