This movie reminds me of The Ring. If you watch the video, you'll die.

Actually it was inspired by it :P

Yeah, actually I heard that the creator of this film got the idea from a dream he had after watching The Ring.

It has its similarities to The Ring but definitely holds its own. I can't remember for sure, but was it watching the film that doomed them or the act of moving into the house where the previous family was murdered? What if a couple without kids moved into the house?

Oh wow! Definitely the film of the people hanging from the tree feels like the fatal video - in the original film in particular. The weird specificity of everyone being hanged when the branch broke and caused the other branch to go up is in particular delightfully specific and fcked up.

Good call. Both have incredible use of sound and lighting. Sinister has better music. Ring has better writing. Perhaps the two best horror movies of the modern era.

Interesting how I said Sinister is the best horror film since The Ring... the guy who wrote Sinister wrote it from a dream he had after watching The Ring

They are quite similar. Sinister actually feels like it could have easily been a remake of a Japanese horror movie, I had to check on that after watching it.
