What actually happens to the kids?

Do they become evil and become Bagul's servants or are their souls imprisoned, tortured etc. by him? I haven't watched the sequel yet but I don't recall Bagul doing anything bad to them. They seemed like they've became his accomplices.

they become his accomplices. without spoiling sequel too much, the kids interact with the main family more, doing Baguls bidding.

doesn't he feast on their souls or some crap like that? isn't that what the professor said.
idk haven't seen the sequel
